Xeeru provides an automated escrow service for Bitcoin transactions on its platform, ensuring peace of mind for both buyers and sellers with our 15-day buyer protection guarantee!

Escrow acts as a trusted intermediary where Bitcoin transactions are securely held by a third party until both parties agree the transaction is complete.

Given the irreversible nature of Bitcoin transactions once sent over the Blockchain, once Bitcoin is sent from one address to another, there's no way to compel the recipient to reverse the payment.

Unlike traditional currency services like credit cards, bank transfers, or PayPal, Bitcoin transactions are final once completed.:

While this feature provides reassurance to online retailers and sellers, it also increases the risk for buyers. Buyers must rely entirely on the seller and trust that their purchase will proceed smoothly.

This is where Xeeru's automated escrow service comes into play. When a buyer pays for an item using escrow, Xeeru holds the funds until the buyer confirms receipt and satisfaction with the purchase. If any issues arise, the buyer can initiate a refund request, minimizing the risk of Bitcoin loss and fostering trust between parties.

How It Works

Xeeru retains funds in escrow for up to 15 days from the purchase date. Once the buyer confirms satisfaction, they release escrow, and Xeeru promptly transfers the funds to the seller. If the buyer doesn't release escrow within 15 days, funds are automatically released to the seller.

When disclosing personal information to third parties for these purposes, we request they adhere to this Privacy Policy.

In the event of a change of our business control or sale or transfer of business assets, we reserve the right to transfer user databases, including personal and non-personal information, within legal limits, to potential purchasers. We aim to disclose information in good faith.

In certain exceptional circumstances, Xeeru may release funds to sellers before buyer confirmation or before 15 days. This can happen if sellers provide sufficient evidence of delivery, if buyers are unresponsive to messages or support requests, or in other exceptional situations. Buyers are still covered for the full 15-day escrow period and can seek a refund directly from Xeeru by submitting a support request.

Escrow Refunds

If a buyer doesn't receive or is dissatisfied with a purchase, they can request a Bitcoin refund from Xeeru. Sellers receive notification of the request, and the refund process follows:

Buyers are expected to give sellers a minimum of 72 hours to deliver the item before requesting a refund. Sellers have 72 hours to respond to refund requests, either agreeing or disputing. If the seller agrees, the buyer receives an immediate refund. If the seller disputes, Xeeru intervenes to arbitrate the dispute. Both parties provide evidence to support their claims before Xeeru reaches a decision. If sellers don't respond or dispute within 72 hours, funds are automatically refunded to the buyer. Xeeru considers evidence provided by both parties, account history, feedback, prior sales, and private messages to make refund decisions.

By using our escrow service for buying or selling goods, you agree that Xeeru reserves the right to use its judgment and all available means to arbitrate refund requests and make final decisions. Escrow refund decisions are final and cannot be reversed.

Escrow Release

Sellers may request early release of funds from escrow under certain conditions. Applications for escrow releases should be made through our Support portal:

Sellers can request an escrow release two weeks after completing the sale and shipping the item. Xeeru evaluates the seller's history, feedback, item type and value, and other information sources before deciding on escrow release. Xeeru may refuse to release funds early and leave the decision to the buyer if certain conditions are not met. Xeeru does not release funds if the buyer has already requested a refund.

Buyer Information

While optional, we recommend buyers use escrow for all purchases.

Using escrow incurs fees of $0.50 for items under $10, $1 for items between $10-$20, and 2.5% (min $1.50) for items over $20, added to the final amount paid.

Buyers should not release funds until they receive their items.

Xeeru holds funds for up to 15 days in escrow unless a refund request or dispute is ongoing.

For purchases like gift cards, do not release escrow until cards/credits are used.

Never agree to release escrow before the seller ships the item.

Never conduct transactions outside of Xeeru or send Bitcoin directly to a seller's address.

Releasing escrow voids buyer protection, and refunds are not possible. The seller immediately receives funds, and Xeeru cannot assist in recovery.

Seller Information

Provide clear item descriptions and aim to deliver within 72 hours.

Resolve issues with buyers promptly to avoid refund requests.

Respond to refund requests within 72 hours.

Provide Xeeru with substantial evidence when disputing a refund.
